Wow!! This is a Great Math Site!!
Go to http://gregtangmath.com/, link provided under links. There are even apps available for the Kakooma games. The Common Core Math Standards stress the importance of fluent (fast) math calculations. Math is being taught horizontally rather than stacking the equation. This is to help prepare students for algebra. Students are also taught and encouraged to solve a math problem using three different strategies. When a student can get the same answer in three different ways, not only do they know they are correct, but they have a deeper depth of knowledge of the concept.
